cPanel Redirects

Redirects allow you to make a specific web page redirect to another page and display the contents of that page. This way you can make a page with a long URL accessible by a page which has a shorter and easier to remember URL.

To use a Redirect you need to login to your cPanel account.
Find the “Domains” section in cPanel and click on Redirect (See pic below, click on picture for larger version).

You are now presented with the add Redirect panel (See pic below, click on picture for larger version).

Type: This determines the type of redirect, 301 Permanent or 302 Temporary.

http://(www.)? This is a drop down list of your domains, followed by a blank spot where you can enter in a directory.

redirects to This is the location you want the redirect to go, in the example we redirect to

www. redirection: These options control wether you redirect with, without or both of the www subdomain.

Click on the Add button.

A list of Redirects, if any exist, is listed below. You can see the domain, directory, redirect url, type, match www, and wildcard options. You can also click on the red X to delete any redirects that are listed.
