To install WordPress, simply log into cPanel, and click on “Fantastico De Luxe”, located under “Software / Services”.
Then select WordPress from the list of available scripts that you can install, and follow the on-screen instructions. Please note, if you wish to install it in the root directory of your website and there are already files in the root directory (such as the default index.php landing page, which is created by default when your hosting account is first installed), you will first need to remove that file; otherwise, Fantastico will fail to install WordPress because it has determined conflicting files are already in the root.
If your web site has a custom layout, you will want to install WordPress into a subdirectory, such as www.mydomain.com/blog/. This will place a complete install of WordPress into its own directory and not overwrite the rest of your web site’s custom layout.
